Self-Editing for Fiction Writers, Second Edition: How to Edit Yourself Into Print

The first of my book-a-week reviews is for Self-Editing for Fiction Writers, Second Edition: How to Edit Yourself Into Print, by Renni Browne

A great reference for style, writing mistakes, and how to spot common problems.

This book was the first that I read after I embarked on writing Synthesis:Weave, and I wished I’d read it sooner. It helped me to prevent my dialogue tags from dissolving in adverb soup, and prompted me to keep my dialog attributions to a minimum, often using only “said” and “asked”.
